BURMESE TEAK (Tectona Grandis)

Teak is one of the most valuable of all woods. Apart from its natural aesthetic appeal, it has long been the choice of the boatbuilding industry for its superb durability, strength and rot resistance.

Architects, interior and landscape designers and craftsmen favour Teak in Asian and Scandinavian influenced design and furnishings. However its high cost limits its use to marine applications for which it is uniquely suited, or to the manufacture of high end cabinetry and joinery

Allen's Woodworks imports genuine Burmese Teak directly from merchants in the Far East. We have established a good relationship with our representative who travels extensively through the region, ensuring top quality timber, very competitive pricing and legal sustainability. Our Teak is kiln dried to a moisture content of 8-12%

We can supply FEQ (First European Quality) Burmese Teak in rough sawn planks or machined to whatever section you may require.  Other grades are available, including quarter-sawn Yacht decking in Super Grade.
